Harper must deal with a dark part of her past when she defends her rapist, Michael Reynolds, who is charged with murdering a judge. Harper wants revenge, so she takes the case with the explicit desire to throw it. But as she digs deeper into the case, she understands that if she throws Michael's case, it means that the real culprit will go free. Struggling with her conscience, which is fighting for her desire for vengeance, Harper must access some of the darkest recesses of her brain.
As she digs in deeper into the case, she finds a conspiracy that goes to the highest level. She's not clear, however, if Michael Reynolds is also involved.
Harper wants to see Michael convicted, even though he's her client. If he's not involved in the murder, can she try to throw his case anyhow? Doing so would go against her conscience and ethics.
But it would also set her free...
Justice Denied A Harper Ross Legal Thriller #2 edition by Rachel Sinclair Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
A federal judge is shot in a major US city and no autopsy is conducted and no forensic investigation is done? Highly improbable.Harper leaves her car parked downtown and tells herself she will use Uber the next day. Yet in the next chapter her car mysteriously appears and she drives herself.
Her client is arrested with no evidence whatsoever simply because he was present when the police arrive after he called it in. Huh?
At trial a forensic expert testifies that the bullets in the body matched those of the recovered gun. How did they recover the bullets without an autopsy?
Did anyone proofread the manuscript looking for missing words and added words?
The author incorrectly defines the difference between preponderance of the evidence and beyond a reasonable doubt.
And we won't even mention all the ethical violations Harper commits in this tale that is just not believable.
Overall a mess not worthy of your time.

Justice Denied A Harper Ross Legal Thriller #2 edition by Rachel Sinclair Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This is one of my favorite legal thriller series. The twists and turns, great characters and plot lines are page turners. Can't wait for the next case.
Plot is excellent. At times the author is 'too wordy' describing homes, neighborhoods. Could be about 75% in length and be just as good or better.
A good read with enough twists and suspense to keep your interest. I felt the ending could have been a bit more drama if the court room chapters had the heroine acting less obtuse. Overall a good read and I would read this author again.
Justice Denied is a very good book which held my interest right to the last page. This legal thriller is definitely one you will want to read.I
have definitely found a great new author to read more books.
Rachel Sinclair is a Social Warrior author. Too bad, she has talent. I would read more of her books, but this "greater good" syndrome over the actual law is uncomfortable. If you own a big company, you must be doing something bad. If you have committed crimes in the past, any circumvention of the law to nail you is okay. God help you if you are a Republican. A good judge is one who follows his heart and passion, the law be damned. Too much of this crap on CNN. I don't need it for entertainment.
Had seen numerous books written by this author so thought I would try reading one. It was a struggle. Did not like the main character despite her issues. Too many sub-plots to follow.
I just finished this book and was given this ARC to read and give an honest review. This is the second book in this series. Harper Ross is a tough criminal defense attorney with a complicated past and current issues that I felt were written in a real sense. I don't want to give a lot away but I will say that this character is very well written, very well developed and you feel her struggles and her pain. You want to root for her and you want to feel satisfied when previous injustices are righted. I can't wait to read the next installment. Hope it is already in the works as I will be impatiently waiting to see what happens next.
